Tempe Municipal Court Marriage Records
A marriage record is a document that displays the parties to the marriage, the license issuance date, the marriage date, and the presiding official or judge. Different documents exist within a complete marriage file, but the most relevant for legal purposes is the recorded marriage license.
Anyone can request a copy of a marriage record from the Maricopa County Clerk of the Superior Court by completing the online Marriage License Copy Request Form. A $30 search fee may apply if the requester does not provide all essential information. A certified copy costs $30.50, a plain copy costs 50 cents a page, and an abstract goes for $30. An abstract is a simpler, certified proof of marriage that only contains essential information.
Free record inspection and in-person requests are available at the Customer Service Center on West Jackson Street. The court identifies this location as currently the best for access to marriage and other public records.
